P1 Introduction to Performance Consulting

This workshop provides the fundamentals that help you transition from Training Specialist or Manager to Performance Consultant. You'll leave with a toolkit and skills you can immediately apply. You will be able to:
  • Present yourself as a Performance Consultant, able to leverage human capital in your organization and cite dramatic, credible data to support this new role.
  • Describe and apply a model for engineering effective performance.
  • Conduct and document a front-end analysis, the major job of the Performance Consultant.
  • Select and develop a variety of non-instructional, performance interventions.
  • Calculate return-on-investment in learning and performance projects.


P2 Measuring the ROI of Training and Performance Improvement Programs

  • Begin building the critical skills necessary to implement ROI.
  • Evaluate specific training and performance improvement programs.
  • Select appropriate data collection methods.
  • Utilize at least five ways to isolate the effects of a program and convert data to monetary values.
  • Learn to calculate return on investment and identify intangible measures.
  • Discover how to implement the ROI process and improve the effectiveness of your programs.


P3 Managing the Move to Online Learning

Leading your organization to online learning requires a plan. This scenariobased workshop guides you in creating that plan so that your move is quick, economical, and sound. You will learn to target e-learning to accomplish crucial business goals; pick the right blend of e-learning and conventional training; convert existing training programs to e-learning; calculate costs, profits, and return on investment; recruit and direct your e-learning team; and identify, evaluate and select vendors and consultants.

P4 Strategic Planning for Training and Performance Improvement Departments

  • How to inclusively develop a strategic plan.
  • Issues to consider when introducing change.
  • Strategies for justifying proposed changes to training departments.

  • Address financial, technological, staffing, outsourcing, economic and business-process issues in your strategic plan.

A1 Engaging Managers in Performance Consulting Initiatives

Learn how to get managers to support performance improvement initiatives, not just seek training programs. In this workshop you will develop questioning skills to use and will receive an interview guide. Learn how to:
  • Discriminate among business, performance, work environment and capability needs.
  • Develop SHOULD-IS-CAUSE questions to ask a client.
  • Use the questioning process to reframe requests for solutions into discussions of desired business and performance results.
  • Use the questioning process to proactively identify strategic opportunities to support.


A2 Planning Your ROI Evaluation

The key to successful ROI implementation is in the planning. This session serves as a forum for developing plans for evaluating the specific programs identified by you and your peers prior to attending the ROI Certificate Program.

You will:
  • Review issues concerning ROI.
  • Complete a plan to evaluate one of you or your team member's training or performance improvement programs.
  • Present you evaluation plan to the larger group, who will provide feedback.
Return on Investment Methodology Certificate registration IS REQUIRED to attend this post-conference workshop.

A3 E-learning Tools and Technologies

How do you select the tools and technologies you need for e-learning? This workshop shows you how. You will learn to:
  • Identify the categories of tools needed.
  • Pick candidate products.
  • Ask crucial questions of vendors.
  • Select the best products for your purposes.
  • You will also receive worksheets, checklists, and planning aids to help you select tools and evaluate vendors. Plus, you will learn a simple trick to ensure that you are never bamboozled again.


A4 Implementing Strategy for Training and Performance Improvement Groups

Review your own strategic plans and anticipate practical issues in implementing them. Specifically review the outlines of strategic plans that you developed in the pre-conference workshop and make adjustments based on information presented later in the conference, before you return to your workplace.
